Philippines JIM 100 WW2 P112s Red Overprint "Mi-hon" (Specimen)
1944 Philippines JIM 100 WW2 P112s Red Overprint "Mi-hon" 見本 (Specimen) PMG 63
Specimens: Notes overprinted with 見本 ('mi-hon') are specimens. Apparently - this has yet to be confirmed - but genuine specimen notes are not truly "overprinted", but have the mi-hon characters printed on the paper before the banknote design is added, so that they are in effect an under-print.
Many genuine notes but with fake mi-hon 'overprints' have appeared in recent years. Specimens of the 1942 series seem to be far scarcer than
the later series.
PMG Grading Service:
Choice Uncirculated 63
The centering is imperfect and the design may be flat.
There may be several flaws but there will be no folds.
EPQ
An Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ) note is, in the opinion of PMG graders, completely original.
EPQ notes will not have been physically, chemically, or materially processed to give the appearance of a higher grade.
Notes exhibiting normal wear-and-tear for their grade are eligible.
All notes graded Very Fine 20 and higher will be evaluated for the EPQ designation.
Notes must qualify for the EPQ designation to grade Gem Uncirculated 65 and higher.
ON GRADING
The grade I gave is just my opinion and may differ from others. Grading is subjective and not an exact science. Please take a look at the photo and grade it accordingly. Several subjective factors of personal preference may be considered different by others. These include paper texture, quality, color, folds, markings, stains and overall eye appeal.
