The HXR-NX5E draws in amazing quality with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at 24 Mbit / s (50i or 25p) and supports 720 / 50p and recording in standard definition. The G Lens and Exmor ™ technology from Sony allow outstanding resolution, color and contrast ratio and high light sensitivity in low-light environments.

AVCHD recordings can be stored on inexpensive, readily available cards, thereby increasing the flexibility of the user. With two 32-GB memory cards the HXR-NX5 can record six hours of HD footage, which can prolong by replacing the memory card. The optional 128-GB flash module (HXR FMU128) offers a maximum recording time of eleven hours HD at 24 Mb / s and supports in combination with the memory cards simultaneous HYBRID recording in HD and / or SD.

The HXR-NX5E has the first camcorder in its class with an integrated GPS, high-quality audio recording (linear PCM) and the new Active SteadyShot stabilization technology.
