The Omega-3 index, an indicator of the body’s omega-3 fatty acid status, is an accepted measurement used in research.

Krill oil contains not only beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, but phospholipids and astaxanthin. Unlink fish oils, krill oil carries omega-3s in the form of phospholipids – liposomes, or little packages that deliver the fatty acids to your body’s cells. Standard fish oils lack this phospholipid complex.

Krill are tiny shrimp-like shellfish found throughout the world’s oceans. Considered the largest biomass on the planet, krill swarms are so big they can be viewed from outer space. While scientists are aware of at least 85 different kinds of krill, we've selected a unique species known as Euphasia superba, which are only found in the pristine Antarctic Ocean.
According to scientific studies, astaxanthin may be one of the most potent antioxidants in the world. Astaxanthin is naturally found in certain animals and plants. It’s also responsible for the reddish-pink color of salmon.

Two factors make the Superba2™ krill oil in Member’s Mark™ Krill Oil uniquely pure – the source and the patented technology used in processing.

Our krill are sustainably harvested from some of the purest waters on the planet – a small sector of the pristine Antarctic Ocean known as Area 48.

Our krill undergoes immediate extraction on the fishing vessel after harvest to ensure freshness. It is then purified and concentrated using a highly advanced, patented technology called Flexitech™. Flexitech™ is a temperature-controlled extraction process which removes salts, impurities, and odor causing components, resulting in an exceptionally clean, clear and pure krill oil without any aftertaste or odor commonly associated with other krill and fish oils.

Sustainability of our oceans is essential, both to the current health of our planet and to ensure benefit for future generations. That's why we've chosen to only source krill oil that has been certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). This certification ensures sustainable best practices from the sea to your home.

The Superba2™ fishery developed a revolutionary harvesting method that helps ensure only krill are caught, and not other precious marine life found in the Antarctic waters.

Superba2™ krill oil has received an A+ rating from the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), the highest rating available, and is also partnered with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Antarctic Wildlife Research Fund (AWR), the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), and the Association of Responsible Krill Harvesting Companies (ARK).
Omega-3 fatty acids have been widely studied and help support the normal function of your brain, eyes, heart, joints, and skin so you can feel your best all day, every day.* Omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Supportive, but not conclusive research suggests the intake of EPA and DHA may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. DHA is essential to maintaining the fluidity of brain cell membranes and retina function.*
