The book contains 77 pages of 11 by 8-inch cartoons which appeared in the New Yorker magazine from the 1920s through the early 60s. In the front of the book is a three-page section of Arno's cartoons, in tattered onion-skin wrapper, detached from the binding. Arno's cartoons are funny but not in a chipper way; one reviewer said, "He drew America?s ruling class as unpleasant, unlikable, sometimes awful people, reducing them to pompous, often sexually avaricious, arrogant boobs, -- not as a class-warrior but as an insider, as one of them."
