Site Tour- Topography of Terror (History of the Site) RARE
(from the inside) The " Topography of Terror" opened next to the Martin-Gropius-Bau in 1987 as part of Berlin's 750th anniversary celebrations and the central historical exhibition on the city's history. While putting the traces of the Gestapo, SS, and Reich Security Main Office in context for the first time and documenting them in an exhibition project on the site, the presentation included, as a matter of course, a walking tour with information panels commenting on the history of the terrain. The site tour remained part of the " Topography of Terror" until 1997, when construction began on a new documentation center. Between 1997 and May 2010, when the entire site was reopened, only a few areas were accessible to visitors.
